Certified Food Safety & Quality
Freshcare is an Australian-owned not-for-profit, established in 2000 that provides internationally recognized standards for the fresh produce industry.
The Freshcare Food Safety and Quality Standard defines the agricultural practices required for farms to provide assurance to customers that their fresh produce is safe to eat and has been prepared to the highest standards.
The required agricultural practices include:
- Preparing produce to customer specifications
- Prevention of food safety hazards
- The ability to trace and identify product in the case of a recall
- Assessment of risks that may occur throughout the produce cycle from land preparation to packaging
- Compliance reviews
- Management of staff and documentation



Biosecurity
This accreditation is with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. It certifies that avocados are harvested and packed in a hard condition, meaning the fruit is picked from healthy living trees with no signs of softening, spots, or broken skin.
